Intermediate/Developmental Program

In addition we will be offering a Intermediate / Developmental Program to be conducted by professional trainers Coach Mate Kozul and Coach Igor Cavar. (See brief bios below.)

The Intermediate / Developmental Program aims to provide age-specific training to recreational players that show potential for  our competitive program.  The program’s sessions are in addition to team practice and will focus on the skills and abilities that are applicable to your child's age, so younger players would focus more on footwork while older players will train more advanced skills like crossing and heading.

The training your child will receive is comparable to what our competitive teams receive and it will give you a taste of what to expect should you and your child be prepared to take the next step and join us in competitive tryouts.

Program Details:

As we get closer to the Fall season kickoff, the details regarding this program will be provided.

Cost: TBD

Hope to see you on the field!

    Recreational Program

Our Recreational Program is a community-based soccer program for ages 3-1/2 through 13.  Our emphasis is to provide a safe environment for the children to participate in the world’s most popular sport.

    Skills Training

Skills training at NSSC is conducted by State licensed professional trainers and will be offered as an option for U7 and older players.

Players will, in a relaxed and fun environment, learn the right way to play from the beginning, as it is easier to do so now then to correct bad habits later. Skills training not only teaches our players the proper techniques but promotes a safer playing field where our stars can shine.

Although most soccer clubs with recreational programs to not offer such training, NSSC has made a commitment to provide skills training to our recreational league since its inception. We believe in its importance!

    Coaching and Management

Each team has a Coach and a Manager. Coaches are selected from parent volunteers who are the core to the recreational program. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate this on your child's registration.  If you become interested in coaching a team after your child registers, please send an email to nsscaz@gmail.com. The NSSC coaching and training staff will be your backbone and will support you at all times. Not only are you donating your time to our soccer players, you are spending irreplaceable quality time with your own children and building on your own soccer aptitude. The volunteer coach chooses the day(s), time, and location of practice but the coach and the team can arrange to suit the needs of the team.

The manager will communicate with the club, parents, and other coaches.

North Scottsdale Soccer Practice and Game Venues

Your practice and game field will be located in one of three venues: Grayhawk, Copper Ridge or McDowell Mountain Ranch, depending on Fall or Spring Seasons.

Practices are held once a week. Skills training sessions are for players U7 and up and given by the NSSC skills trainers. Skills Training takes place at McDowell Mountain Ranch fields. There is an additional fee for the eight Skills Training Sessions.

    North Scottsdale Soccer Season

The fall season runs from September to December with a break for Thanksgiving. The spring season runs from February to April. Games are played on Saturdays between 8:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Practices are generally one or two days per week, Monday through Thursday, between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Younger players practice at the earlier times and older teams may practice later.

Registrations are being accepted now for the Spring 2011 Recreational Soccer Season. Please register early to ensure your child receives a slot. Requests for a teammate, coach, or practice location are considered but we cannot guarantee. Best efforts are applied to honor all requests throughout the team formation process. However, team size, coed “balance” and field availability may keep us from meeting a specific request.

    Additional Information

Younger teams, U4 through U7, will play without goalkeepers. Older teams, U8 through U13, will play with goalkeepers. Recreational Teams are coed.

We depend on parental involvement and volunteering for different duties and positions within their teams as well as within the club. Also, any sponsorships/donations will be greatly appreciated.

We anticipate a fun and exciting season for all those participating!
